ABOUT ME

Hi, I’m Gemma. I’m glad you’re here.

I am a licensed independent clinical social worker in the states of New York (098003) and Washington (LW61098697).

I work with couples, families, and individuals to help them improve the quality of their interpersonal relationships. My approach to therapy is informed by relational psychodynamic psychotherapy and attachment theory. I encourage clients to become curious about their inner world and patterns of behavior and experience. In my work with couples, I use evidence-based interventions from the Gottman Method, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Internal Family Systems Theory.

Before starting my private practice, I worked as a therapist for several years in university settings and community mental health. I also taught courses at the University of Washington, University of Kansas, and University of Michigan on various subjects including violence prevention, emotional literacy, sexual health, and social work practice with families and groups.

My practice is both in-person and virtual for Washington-based clients. I work with New-York-based clients via telehealth.
